YTRiP invites you to take an Old
Manila Walk
Join us this Saturday, July 28 at 9:00
am as we explore the Chinese cemetery
in La Loma (beside the North Cemetery).
Be it deadly curiosity or
a simple interest in old Manila, the tour lets you
learn more about Filipino-Chinese heritage and the
stories of the most powerful magnates in Pinoy history.
This is in partnership with Old
Manila Walks - a group of passionate streetwalkers
that lets you "experience the best of historic
Manila - one step at a time."
When you come with us on this trip, you also let
SIX (6) students from the Pamantasan ng Lungsod
ng Maynila walk with us. This is one of the initial
steps in our Field Trip for Public School Students
program.
The tour fees of the first three people to sign-up
are on us! Email us at youthtrip@gmail.com.

A Chinese Cemetery Walk
Boo! So you've heard about its flamboyant
tombs but never had the guts to visit it? Well,
here's this trippy trip you've been dying for! Come
and join us as we romp through the gravestones of
the Chinese Cemetery!
We'll skirt through the historic alleyways
of this 'city of the dead' digging out the lives
(and skeletons!) of the Philippines' taipans of
yore. Take a peek at a lumber mogul's three-storey
mausoleum! Light incense at Manila's oldest Chinese
temple! Discover the exploits of the renowned Noodle
king! Visit a unique 'turtle tomb'!
Let's talk history, learn about Chinese
customs and check out some of the most eclectic
architecture in the city. We'll search for worldly
ghosts and tread where no spirits have tread before!
So what are you waiting for? Warm up those muscles
as we take a tour of the Tsinoy underworld-in
style!
Meet at the Chong Hock Tong
Temple inside the Cemetery grounds (the
one in the photo).
Tour Fee: Php 500. We all meet at
9am.
